First separate material names from construction names
A nonwoven can contain more than one fibre, so it is not the opposite of every microfiber or cellulose product. Cotton is also a component of the cellulose/cotton sponge cloths in SM11. Those sponge cloths should not be treated as interchangeable with an ordinary woven cotton cloth.
For sourcing, record both what the item contains and how the finished format is made. This avoids comparing a retail sponge-cloth pack with a lightweight wiping roll using only the price per piece.
Use the task to build a shortlist
For a glass or polished-surface programme, compare wiping finish, visible lint and handling on the intended finish. For wet kitchen wiping, include wringing, residue and drying under the proposed care instructions. For a dispensing programme, also check perforation, sheet dimensions and whether one sheet is the selling or usage unit.
Do not describe every nonwoven as disposable or every textile as indefinitely reusable. The intended use and supported care instructions should define that distinction for the selected item.
Catalogue examples and the evidence boundary
SM21001 is a polyester/polyamide grid cloth. SM22001 is a polyester/viscose spunlace cloth in a ten-piece pack. SM11002 is a cellulose/cotton sponge cloth in a three-piece pack. The different sizes, weights and pack counts below explain why the quotations need a common basis.
This comparison does not identify a plain 100% cotton cloth SKU in those ranges. If cotton is part of the brief, obtain a separate confirmed specification and sample. Its inclusion here is a buyer comparison option, not a statement that every cotton format is available from stock.
| Format | Example and composition | Listed size / pack |
|---|---|---|
| Microfiber grid cloth | SM21001: 80% polyester / 20% polyamide | 30 × 30 cm; 300 GSM; 1 piece |
| Spunlace nonwoven | SM22001: polyester + viscose | 50 × 36 cm; 38 GSM; 10 pieces |
| Cellulose sponge cloth | SM11002: 70% cellulose / 30% cotton | 18 × 20 cm; 3 pieces |
| Plain cotton cloth | Separate specification required | No plain-cotton SKU asserted here |
Compare the same cleaning job, not an absorption slogan
Give each supplier the same surface, soil and routine, including whether the cloth starts dry or damp and whether cleaner is used. Record the number of passes, visible residue, sample condition and drying arrangement. For different formats, report both the individual item result and the size used.
Avoid untested statements such as a particular material absorbing a fixed multiple more water, never smelling or lasting a set number of months. Fibre content alone also does not establish finished-product compostability or suitability for food contact.
Align the retail and shipping units
Ask whether the quoted quantity means individual cloths, sheets or retail packs. Record pieces per pack, packs per carton and the approved outer dimensions. A ten-piece nonwoven pack and a three-piece sponge-cloth pack should be compared against their intended use and price basis.
The final enquiry should identify material, construction, size, colour or print, pack count, use instructions, sample checks and destination market. Where a mixed range is planned, keep these fields separate for each item rather than putting all cloths under one generic specification.
Example: building two retail formats for the same shelf
A buyer planning a kitchen range might shortlist SM11002 as a three-piece sponge-cloth pack and SM22001 as a ten-piece nonwoven pack. Give both suppliers the same cleaning tasks, but keep the different care instructions and selling units in the comparison. The question is which format fits each role in the range, not which material can be declared the winner in every test.
Record cloth size, pieces per selling unit, proposed replacement or care instructions and the observed result on the selected surfaces. If a plain cotton alternative is needed, add a confirmed cotton sample as a third candidate. Do not present the cotton option as an available SINOCLEAN stock code without a quotation.

Catalogue references and scope
The item specifications cited in this guide come from the linked SINOCLEAN catalogue entries. They identify the proposed products; they are not independent performance results. Sample routines and calculation examples are buyer guidance, not reports of completed factory or laboratory tests. Confirm the final specification and supporting evidence with the quotation.
