Define what is being separated or removed
A proposal should identify the starting structure and the intended result. Is the treatment changing a polyester surface, removing a surrounding component, or separating components along an interface? The word splitting alone does not answer that question.
A finished-cloth composition field also cannot establish the route. Request a description tied to the proposed fabric and ask which process stage the supplier performs directly and which is coordinated upstream.
What chemical weight reduction can mean
For polyester, alkaline treatment can hydrolyse material and change mass and surface characteristics. Selective component removal in other composite systems depends on the materials and treatment chemistry. These situations should not be presented as one identical method.
Treatment can also affect properties that matter to the buyer, including strength, residual substances or subsequent finishing behaviour. This guide gives no recipe, chemical concentration or operating setting; a generic route is not sufficient to approve a factory process or product claim.
What mechanical separation requires
Physical action can help separate suitably designed components or structures. The effectiveness depends on the filament architecture and processing conditions; it is not a promise that any ordinary continuous filament can simply be converted into the same fine structure.
Mechanical does not necessarily describe the entire manufacturing chain. Other chemical, dyeing or finishing stages may still be involved. An order should not carry chemical-free wording merely because one separation step is described as mechanical.
Compare finished outcomes rather than process slogans
Ask what evidence demonstrates the intended separation and how the treated fabric is checked. Then assess the properties required by the application: composition, construction, residue, dimensions, strength where specified and the actual wiping result.
A lower price or softer feel is not conclusive evidence of the route. Nor does a route label establish environmental superiority. Compare water, energy, chemicals, emissions and waste only within a defined, documented process boundary.
| Description | Clarify | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|
| Alkali weight reduction | Polymer affected and purpose | The same route for all microfiber |
| Selective component removal | Starting architecture and final composition | An unchanged original-yarn declaration |
| Mechanical separation | Suitability of the starting structure | No chemicals anywhere in production |
| Environmental comparison | Measured boundary and records | A cleaner process from its name alone |
Questions for the selected order
The current catalogue identifies finished products such as SM21001, but it does not specify a complete chemical-versus-mechanical route for every code. Where the route matters, obtain a proposal-specific statement and connect it to the approved sample.
Record any required examination or test method, specimen identity and acceptance criteria. If the supplier changes yarn or processing responsibility, review whether the prior evidence still covers the revised item before production approval.
Fields for your supplier enquiry
For [item/sample], describe the starting filament architecture, process purpose, component removal or separation, responsible facility, final composition and verification. Provide evidence for the finished-fabric requirements; identify any environmental claim and its measured boundary separately.
Sources and what this guide establishes
The item links below identify published SINOCLEAN catalogue references. They do not establish a specific upstream manufacturing route, test result, factory capability or certification. Confirm any proposal-specific information against the quotation and representative sample.
