Choose wipes or blocks before asking for a bulk price
A melamine cleaning sponge and a thin melamine wipe use the same broad material label but create different handling and retail expectations. The first question in a wholesale enquiry is the finished format. Record length, width and thickness together, rather than asking for a generic “standard sponge”.
The SM31 catalogue lists SM31001 as an 18 × 18 × 0.3 cm cleaning wipe in a four-piece pack, and SM31003 as a 13 × 18 × 0.3 cm cleaning wipe in a 30-piece pack. The thicker block options are SM31002, 10 × 6 × 2 cm in a ten-piece pack, and SM31004, 10 × 6 × 2.5 cm in a three-piece pack.
Ask for a density value that can be checked
Density should be expressed with a unit and an agreed measurement condition. A description such as high density is not a complete specification. Ask the supplier to state the proposed density, its tolerance, how it is measured and the exact finished dimensions used for the comparison.
The current SM31 catalogue entries do not publish a numerical density value. A buyer should request it rather than infer it from thickness, price, pack count or a photograph. Also separate the weight of the dry product from carton gross weight, which includes packaging and cannot establish foam density by itself.
Approve the product on the intended surface
Melamine cleaning formats can act abrasively. Test an inconspicuous area on the actual finish and follow the proposed use instructions before approving the retail claim. A product photograph or a material name is not evidence for “safe on every surface”. Coated, glossy and delicate finishes need particular care in the approval process.
Use a consistent test routine: state the surface, whether the sample is wet, the pressure and number of strokes, and any cleaner used. Record cleaning result, wear, fragments and changes to the surface. Do not present a cleaning sponge as a skin-care item or print disinfecting or antimicrobial claims without the relevant evidence.
Price the selling unit and the shipping unit separately
Bulk quantity can mean loose pieces, multiple retail packs or a full carton. Define all three levels in the enquiry. Confirm the product code, pieces per selling pack, selling packs per carton, outer carton dimensions and gross weight before comparing freight assumptions.
A thinner wipe in a 30-piece pack should not be compared directly with a thick block in a three-piece pack using only the pack price. Compare the cost basis, product dimensions and intended use first. Request final carton data after the packaging sample is approved, because printed sleeves, inserts or boxes can change the shipping unit.
Keep supplier responsibility clear
SINOCLEAN’s group controls selected material processes, while melamine foam belongs to the materials sourced through partner factories against the group’s specification and inspection requirements. A buyer can ask which factory makes the selected item, which process is checked and which documents support the proposed market claims.
For a wholesale quotation, send the code or finished format, size, requested density specification, quantity, pack and destination market. Ask for a labelled sample and a written list of the final approval points. The published standard MOQ is 3,000 pieces per item and colour, subject to the actual quotation and any custom packaging or product changes.
Check the catalogue and prepare your enquiry
The dimensions, material descriptions and pack counts above come from the current SINOCLEAN catalogue entries. Confirm the final specification against the quotation and an approved sample.
