Choose ODM when speed matters
ODM works from a proven base. The buyer can select an existing item code, change colour or packaging, and confirm the adaptation with a sample. This reduces development risk, but the final specification still needs to state what is changing.
Choose OEM when the product must be unique
OEM is appropriate when the buyer has a proprietary shape, material grade, tool or performance requirement. Start with a written brief and confirm which drawings, samples and intellectual-property documents belong to the buyer.
Compare the commercial variables
Ask about MOQ, tooling, sample timing, production timing, packaging, inspection and repeat-order control. A lower unit price does not compensate for an unclear specification or an unplanned tooling step.
Use one brief for both routes
The enquiry should state item, material, size, colour, packaging, target quantity and destination market. SINOCLEAN’s standard process uses quotation, sampling, artwork, pre-production approval, production and inspection; the exact route depends on the item.
A specification you can send today
Send the item code or construction, material, size, colour, pack, target quantity and destination market. Ask the supplier to repeat these fields in the quotation and sample record. This keeps the commercial conversation tied to the product that will actually be produced.
