Read the four carton fields together
Pcs per carton tells you how many selling units are packed. Carton size gives the outer dimensions. Gross weight includes the packed carton. 40HQ quantity is a planning value for the container, not a promise that every shipment will load identically.
Separate product weight from carton weight
Do not infer the unit weight from gross carton weight when the packing, inserts or carton construction are unknown. Use the listed product data for comparison and confirm the final packed weight before booking freight.
Check changes after artwork
Printed sleeves, colour boxes and inserts can change carton dimensions and gross weight. Reconfirm the carton after the pre-production sample, not only when the first quotation is issued.
Use the data in a landed-cost sheet
Add unit cost, pack count, carton count, freight basis, destination and inspection cost. A product with a lower unit price can be less competitive if it uses more cartons or loses container efficiency.
A specification you can send today
Send the item code or construction, material, size, colour, pack, target quantity and destination market. Ask the supplier to repeat these fields in the quotation and sample record. This keeps the commercial conversation tied to the product that will actually be produced.
