What does private label mean for microfiber cloths?
Private label means the cloth is made by a manufacturer and sold under the buyer’s brand, with the buyer’s packaging and specification.
OEM usually means the factory builds to your specification, while ODM means you adapt an existing factory design. Most microfiber programmes start from an existing cloth and customise colour, branding and pack. See OEM vs ODM for cleaning products.
- Private label
- Products made by one company and sold under another company’s brand.
- OEM
- Original equipment manufacturing: production to the buyer’s specification.
- ODM
- Original design manufacturing: the buyer selects and adapts a supplier’s existing design.
- Dieline
- The flat template for a printed pack, showing cut, fold and print areas.
Where can a logo go on a microfiber cloth?
There are three places: on the cloth itself, on a label attached to the cloth, or on the retail packaging only.
Packaging-only branding leaves the cloth unchanged and is often the quickest route. Branding on the cloth looks premium but depends on the fabric: a deep pile or textured face may not hold fine detail. Print method and feasibility depend on the selected fabric and artwork, and SINOCLEAN confirms them before sampling.
| Placement | Common methods in the industry | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| On the cloth | Printing, embroidery or embossing | Detail depends on pile and texture; check wash durability on the sample |
| On a label | Woven or printed label sewn into the edge | Label position and hardness should be checked on delicate surfaces |
| On the packaging | Printed sleeve, header card, hang tag, bag or box | No change to the cloth; artwork follows the dieline |
Which cloth should you start from?
Start from a catalogue cloth whose listed specification matches your use, then customise.
The custom microfiber cloth page lists eight starting items, including SM21001 grid, SM21005 waffle, SM21027 printed fishscale and SM21033 glass cloth, all listed at 30 × 30 cm, 300 GSM and 80/20 polyester/polyamide. The full wholesale microfiber range has 69 items.
What MOQ applies to custom logo microfiber cloths?
The standard MOQ is 3,000 pieces per item and per colour. Pantone-matched custom colours can require 5,000.
The minimum applies per item and per colour, so eight cloths in three colours means twenty-four minimums. Narrowing a first range is often the easiest way to keep the order viable.
How long does a private-label microfiber order take?
A first programme runs 16–24 weeks from enquiry to warehouse arrival, including sea freight. Artwork, not production, is the stage that most often overruns.
| Stage | Timing | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Specification and NDA | Weeks 1–2 | Item list, material, size, colour, packaging, quantity and markets; NDA before artwork |
| Quotation and sampling | Weeks 2–5 | Stock samples in 5–7 days; custom samples in 10–15 days |
| Artwork and dieline | Weeks 4–8 | Dieline, print feasibility check, physical packaging prototype |
| Pre-production sample | Weeks 8–10 | Real product in real packaging, approved in writing |
| Production | Weeks 10–15 | 25–35 days after deposit; photo update at about 50% |
| Inspection and shipment | Weeks 15–16 | AQL 2.5 inspection, then 4–6 weeks sea freight |
Which retail packaging formats are available?
Header cards, hang tags, blister and clamshell packs, PP or PE printed bags, shrink bundles, colour boxes, kraft sleeves and multi-packs.
Multilingual instruction inserts and barcode placement are handled at the dieline stage. Collect mandatory pack elements, such as barcode, origin, composition, recycling marks, importer address and translations, before your designer opens the file. See the retail packaging guide.
How do samples work?
Stock samples are free and ready in 5–7 days; you cover the courier. Custom samples take 10–15 days and the fee is refunded against your first production order.
Approve the cloth first, then the pre-production sample in the final pack. That approval is the last point at which a change costs nothing.
Who owns the design?
You own your artwork and any design you supply, and SINOCLEAN signs an NDA before receiving your files.
Where you pay for a custom mould or die, that tooling is yours and dedicated to your orders.
