Materials → details → retail-ready brief

A cloth built around your brief.

Choose the right base cloth first. Then develop colour, edge, artwork and packaging together — with the physical sample as the reference, not just an attractive screen preview.

01 / Start with the task

Different surfaces. Different constructions.

The SM21 range includes grid, waffle, glass cloth and coral fleece formats. Start with the job the cloth needs to do, then discuss the construction and finish.

01

Everyday wiping

Grid and waffle cloths offer different textures for routine cleaning. SM21001 grid and SM21005 waffle are catalogue starting points, not interchangeable performance guarantees.

02

Glass & smooth surfaces

SM21033 glass cloth and SM21027 printed fishscale provide starting references for a finer surface. Confirm the intended surface and care routine; a glass-cloth name does not establish suitability for every lens or screen.

03

Plush & automotive formats

Coral fleece and twist-loop constructions offer other ways to approach wiping and drying. Choose from the car cloth range and confirm fabric weight, pile, finished dimensions and edge on your sample.

02 / Define the specification

Six decisions to make together.

These are discussion options, not a promise that every combination is available for every product. Feasibility, minimum quantities and commercial terms are confirmed per quotation.

Material & fabric weight

Specify split microfiber blend, GSM and construction rather than colour alone. The published OEM range includes 80/20 and 90/10 blends. Record the selected item code because the wider catalogue also includes other materials and blends.

Size & edge

Set finished width and length and agree measurement tolerances. Discuss a stitched or bound edge, or an edgeless finish where suitable for the construction. Confirm the actual edge, seam feel and shape on the sample; do not select an edge from a render alone.

Colour & coordinated ranges

Send a stock-colour preference or Pantone reference. Review colour on the selected textile and under agreed viewing conditions. Different textures may look different in the same colour; physical approval takes priority over a screen swatch.

Branding & artwork

Identify the cloth, label or pack as the intended logo location. Include artwork, placement and required dimensions. Print method and feasibility depend on fabric and artwork and must be agreed before sampling. No particular print method is assumed.

Retail pack & quantity

Existing packaging options include paper bands or kraft sleeves, hang tags, printed PP/PE bags, colour boxes and multi-packs. Specify pieces per selling unit and the proposed carton arrangement; final dieline and packing are confirmed with the quote.

Information & market

List destination markets, barcode placement, importer details, composition, origin and required insert languages. Identify required reports before artwork is approved. A proposed mark or label must not be treated as proof of certification.

03 / From concept to approval

Use the studio to communicate, not to sign off production.

Our existing interactive design studio lets you choose a product, explore colours and patterns, position artwork and indicate packaging.

Its browser preview is an enquiry brief. Final print method, materials, size and packing are confirmed in the quotation and physical sample. Files selected in the studio remain in your browser until you attach them to the enquiry email.

Your first brief

  • Product code or reference construction and intended surface
  • Blend, GSM, finished size, edge and colour preference
  • Artwork location and retail pack format
  • Quantity per item and colour, destination and target launch date
  • Required evidence and sample acceptance criteria

Keep a revision number on the brief so changes can be traced from enquiry to approved sample.

04 / Agree before ordering

Keep the commercial details in the quotation.

Minimum quantities, sample charges, artwork setup, packing and timing depend on the chosen specification. The existing OEM page sets out the published standard terms and programme timeline; this customization guide does not replace them. Confirm the final terms for your project in writing.

Bring the specification into focus.

Send the item, intended use, quantity and destination market. Include the decisions you need the sample or quotation to resolve.
